Handcross - West Sussex
This is an alternative launch site for Hickstead if the wind is coming from the North. Handcross is a very popular site to take your balloon flight from, easily accessible from the Brighton, Crawley and South London areas. We meet at the Fountain Public House in the heart of Handcross. From here we will transport you to the nearby launch site.
Location & Facilities
Accessed off the A23 the showground offers an excellent centrally situated site for Sussex. Safe parking, but no toilet facilities are available. Please note, if the wind comes from the south we will fly from an alternative site at Waterhall in Brighton; if the wind is from the north then we would fly from our Handcross launch site. You will be advised on the day which site we would be using. When the showground has an equestrian event on, we meet at the Hickstead Hotel, in the village of Hickstead.
