Our West Meon balloon launch site is easy to get to. It’s about 30 minutes from Southampton, Portsmouth and Chichester and also easily accessible from the north via the M3 motorway.
Passengers who choose a balloon flight from our main Hampshire launch site at West Meon are blessed with truly lovely countryside. This part of the South Downs close to the launch site has a fascinating history with ancient hill forts and burial mounds peppering the hillsides. You will be delighted by the whole of this area with views possible of Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Stansted Park, West Dean Gardens and Portchester Castle to name but a few. Petersfield and the historic city of Winchester are delightful to visit if you find you have extra time to spend to explore the area. Anstey Park at Alton just 10 miles north and Micheldever close to Junction 7 on the M3 are our main back up sites if the wind is blowing towards the sea and on the odd occasion we may need to move further in land to Basingstoke or Hartley Wintney to provide enough room for the balloon flight to show you how delightful the rolling Hampshire countryside is from the air.
Our West Meon launch site is near the crossroads where the A32 meets the A272. There are no toilet facilities. We meet in the launch field near to the West Meon Hut where you can purchase food and drinks all day. If you are coming from Alton direction, turn right at the traffic lights and the launch field is 175 metres up on the left hand side.
